What is the difference between detailing and valeting?

Valeting is often just a quick wash and wax, using harsh chemicals, drying blades and poor quality wax offering little protection. Detailing is a very thorough process that only uses the worlds finest and safest products, most of which are very expensive. The wax's used by emerald detailing range from £160-£1750 per 200ml tub. Another difference is time. Valeters normally need to clean at least 4 cars per day and as such, they often rush and dont take the time needed to do the job properly. A detailer will spend as long as necessary to ensure the job is done to the highest possible standard.

Im selling my car, should i get it detailed?

Yes. Having the car detailed will help it achieve a high potential sale price. If you put two identical cars up for sale, the detailed car could achieve a higher price, as it will look its best and also that it has been well looked after. It is not uncommon to hear of clients adding the price of the detail onto the asking price and in effect, having a free detail and making the car easier to sell.
